We attended the Minnesota State Fair today, we (I mean the kids and I) look forward every year to the food, rides, animals and the busyness of the fair (Mark is not a lover of the State Fair, but is a good trooper because we enjoy going so much). We had originally planned on going to the State Fair on Monday, but due to the HOT temps and WIND, we rescheduled for today. We missed the boat on this one as well...today's high temp was 59 degrees and still WINDY! So, we bundled up with our umbrellas and set out for a day at the Fair...
Calli tried something new this year...A Fair Do!
She choose her colors (pink and lime green) and the up-do (pigtails)...

She looked so darn cute and many, many people stopped and admired her new do...
Last year we attended the Lumberjack Show and were so impressed by the competition that we had to view it again this year...
The kids just loved this old 70's van at the Peace Out tent.
Calli was getting ideas for her first car...
The next show we made it to was Caden's most favorite (imagine that),
it has become a yearly State Fair tradition for us. The X Games by 3rd Lair was awesome and there were plenty of ooh's and ahh's by all...
Who can go to the State Fair and not see the largest boar in Minnesota???
This year the boar topped out at 1450 lbs!
Poor thing, all he could do was eat and sleep, how exhausting...
The kids always enjoy seeing and petting all the Fair animals...
We hit a few rides as usual, the top favorite for Calli and Caden this year was the Tilt-A-Whirl. The giggles, actually belly laughs coming from them was out of hand...
To warm up and give our legs a break we hopped on the Trolley
and got a diiferent view of the State Fair...
Caden and I always enjoy some delicious cotton candy...
This years hype was all about the Henna tattoos! Our first attempt at these brought about long, lines and lots of waiting, so we headed back later on. Caden choose the Fish and Calli's design of choice was a Peace Sign. Only 5 weeks left of looking at these wacky body art tattoos...
We had another fabulous time at the Minnesota Great Get Together!
Even though we braved the wind chill factor (only in Minnesota),
we made many great memories...
Can't wait for next year!
