A Labor of Love

We had a blast volunteering at the school's carnival on Saturday! There was so much to do and see. The carnival had over 15 games, fabulous food, and great prizes. We were in charge of running the JEWELRY SPIN booth. The kid's enjoyed handing out prizes and saying hello to everyone. What a fun and fantastic school fundraiser!

Ready For Kindergarten....

This evening we attended Caden's kindergarten registration at McKinley Elementary. It was a bitter sweet moment for all of us.....:( Wow, how time flies-it is hard to believe that our little boy is turning five, and getting ready for kindergarten this fall. We participated in many activities including......meeting the principal, a picture with Buddy the Bulldog (the school mascot), Chicka Chicka 123 (math activity), Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (reading activity), and a bus ride. We also toured the kindergarten rooms and met the teacher's. Obviously, the bus ride was one of the top favorites for Caden. He absolutely loved being on the bus! Let's hope the enthusiam is still there come September......!

Crop 'til You Drop

I spent a fun and much needed girl's weekend scrapbooking in Motley, Minnesota at Camp Shamineau. I enjoyed scrapbooking my memories while reminiscing about old ones ...

If We Could Freeze Time....

We spent another fun, relaxing long weekend in Hayward, Wisconsin with our family and Mark's parent's. We seem to have a different adventure each year. This past weekend was the Hayward 300 Snocross races. What a sight that was to see! I have never seen a little boy (Caden) so excited to watch snowmobiles, he was flabbergasted....between the snowmobile races, jumps, and wipe outs. He was the most excited to tell everyone about the big roll over that happened on corner two. I am not sure if it was more fun to watch his bewilderment or hear Jan's oohing and ahhing. The kid's also had the amazing opportunity to meet and sign autographs with some of the top national snocross racer's. The racer's were ever so accommodating....we were able to tour their trailer's, and besides signing their posters, they even autographed Calli and Caden's helmets and snowmobile. WHAT A MEMORY AND TREASURE FOR THEM! We are still in awe! We also enjoyed some fabulous BBQ food at the original Famous Dave's on the lake, ice skated, and did SOME or should I say A LITTLE snowmobiling. We have not had the best year as far as snow goes. We attempted to snowmobile a bit on the lake, but that was as far as we got. It was too warm on Friday, and it was a slushy mess. The kid's didn't mind one bit, and that's what it is all about....the children and their memories with family!

Cool!

Calli just completed her first session of ice skating lessons at the National Sports Center. She took 10 weeks of lessons learning how to glide, swizzle, fall correctly, stop, skate forward and backward. She really loved ice skating, and is looking forward to next winter where she will progress upto the next level.
