Number One

Caden rode his last summer race tonight and he went out with a bang...
He came in 1st place this evening in all his qualifying motos,
as well as the Main Feature Race!

He was on fire and had a great distance ahead of all the other riders...

I was so excited to be able to pass out the Trophy Coupons to the riders as they crossed the finish line tonight...and to be there when Caden finished FIRST!

Wow, what an accomplishment, his very first 1st Place Trophy!
He was NOT going to let Sunday's race get him down...
Now what are we going to do with all these trophies...!
We are looking forward to what the Fall racing season has in store for him...

To My Husband

When we're walking side by side and you REACH FOR MY HAND,
do you know how SPECIAL that makes me feel?

When you go out of your way to help around the house
AND MAKE MY DAY SO MUCH EASIER,
do you know how SPECIAL that makes me feel?

When you hold me close and tell me I'm beautiful and will
ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE THE ONLY ONE FOR YOU,
do you know how SPECIAL that makes me feel?

When I think about you and all the ways YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO SPECIAL,
I wonder if you know how LUCKY that makes me feel and how deeply
I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LOVER!
Thank you for 13 wonderful years of love, memories, laughs and for our beautiful family.
I LOVE YOU!!!

MN State BMX Finals

Caden had the opportunity to partake in the Minnesota BMX State Finals this weekend. He was so pumped to be able to be a part of this big event at our home track! His determination and skills have greatly improved since starting BMX racing in May. He did a SUPER job this weekend and we are all so PROUD of him...

Friday evening brought about the "Night Under Lights" race. The Rosar Family came to cheer him on as he placed 3rd this evening!

He came so close to coming in 2nd, only missing it by an inch...
We celebrated his accomplishment and medal with ice cream at McDonald's.
Way to go, Dude!

As the weekend approached and Saturday came, we knew we were in for a grand event. We just didn't realize the scale of it...over 2,000 folks came out to the MN State Finals this weekend in Isanti. The riders competed with the BEST in the State, and had to go up against some pretty big competition.

These were the "carrots" dangling in front of Caden as rode to the finish line on Sunday...

Our cute rider, Lightning Lekson #244...

Getting staged and ready to ride his first moto on Saturday...

It took 2 motos this afternoon for Caden to qualify for the Main race...but, his persistance paid off. He placed 3rd in State!!! Not to bad for a boy that just started his first season this summer...

He received his very first wall plaque this afternoon (he was so darn excited that he even slept with it that evening)!

Caden met a new friend at the track this summer and has enjoyed hanging out with Dylan and learning some great tips from him. Great job, Dylan on placing 1st in your class!

Thanks to all who came out to support Caden today in his racing. We really appreciate your encouragement, Papa & Nana, Chad & Alyssa and Bob....it makes a real difference to Caden.

Our last day of Finals was on Sunday, and this day brought even more excitement to Rum River BMX. There were a total of 91 motos racing today, and you could feel the frenzy in the air (not to mention the humidity and wind)...

Caden rode well today and qualified for the Main Feature race in his first moto! Like I said before, he was after the "trophies that were taller than him"...

Thanks again to our fans, the Roe Family, Nana & Papa, Lauren and Chad for coming out once again to applaud and cheer Caden on...

Here is Caden getting ready to cross the finish line in his first moto...can you see his look of determination!

An unfortunate event happened to Caden during the Main Feature race on Sunday...2 riders collided in front of him after the first obstacle and took him down as well. He ended up finishing the race in 6th place and received a purple medal for participating in the Minnesota State Finals Qualifier. We are so very proud of him for getting back up on his bike and finishing the race. He had tremendous sportsmanship and wore his medal proudly. You did an amazing job this weekend, Caden, you finished 3rd and 6th for your class in the State. You should be so proud of yourself, we are!
A big THANK YOU to Calli, his big sis, for always being his optimistic, unending cheerleader...you are his #1 fan!

Get Ready...

It is such a treat to be able to take the kids school shopping one-on-one. I really treasure this time spent with them individually before school starts...

This season I started out with Caden by shopping for school supplies, clothes and lunch. We had a ball shopping for clothes at his favorite store, Old Navy and delighted in lunch at his favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.

Next, was Calli's turn...we did the power shopping this year! I am so excited that she is starting to like shopping and she is really getting in to her own style. We visited a few of her favorite stores...Aeropostle, Justice and Gilly Hicks. She choose to have lunch at Taco Bell so she could savor her best-loved Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes.
We did great shopping this school season...the kids cannot wait to wear their new duds and sport their new supplies. I, however, am getting teary eyed already knowing that we will have a fifth and first grader this fall...summer is going by WAY TOO fast!

ALL STAR GAME

Calli played her last softball game this evening called the All Star Game. She was sad to see the season come to a close, yet so excited to have her own cheering section of Dad, Mom, Caden, Gramma Jo Jo, Papa & Nana, Amanda & Max and The Rosar's. Her team did a fantastic job and won by a landslide...way to go, Calli!

Good job, Calli, a home run...!

A high five to show great sportsmanship!

All the teams of the Blaine Park & Recreation Department played this evenings All Star Game and each player received a medal for participating this summer...

Spencer & Calli...the best of buds!

The Cherry Bombs...
What a great season!

Wilderness Territory

We were so elated to join The Barta's and Papa & Nana in Wisconsin Dells! We have never been before and were so excited to make some splashin' good memories. We stayed at America's largest waterpark resort, the Wildnerness Territory. With over 600 acres of beautiful waterparks, grounds and lodging we were bound to have some great times...

The Wilderness Territory has 8 waterparks located within the resort. We were able to hit all of them, and then some...

The beautiful grounds and flowers were amazing, I couldn't help but capture its beauty...

One of our most favorite waterparks located in the Wilderness Territory was the Lost World. We all enjoyed the different activities this boosted,
but the most fun was Halley's Comet Racers.
It was like the Giant Slide at the State Fair...

Everyone told us to not miss out on the Duck Boats...they were so right! We had a thrilling time riding on land and water touring around and through the Wisconsin River...

The sights along the tour included a bit of Wisconsin geology, a dash of world history and, course, a hefty helping of good, old-fashioned Midwest humor...

Back to more waterparks and lots and lots of water...

Thanks for an excellent time in The Dells, we are looking forward to going again!

We were so thrilled to be able to attend the annual Koob Family Reunion this summer in Owatonna. It was great to catch up with all our relatives and to see how all the children have grown...
