Caden had the opportunity to partake in the Minnesota BMX State Finals this weekend. He was so pumped to be able to be a part of this big event at our home track! His determination and skills have greatly improved since starting BMX racing in May. He did a SUPER job this weekend and we are all so PROUD of him...
Friday evening brought about the "Night Under Lights" race. The Rosar Family came to cheer him on as he placed 3rd this evening!

He came so close to coming in 2nd, only missing it by an inch...

We celebrated his accomplishment and medal with ice cream at McDonald's.
Way to go, Dude!

As the weekend approached and Saturday came, we knew we were in for a grand event. We just didn't realize the scale of it...over 2,000 folks came out to the MN State Finals this weekend in Isanti. The riders competed with the BEST in the State, and had to go up against some pretty big competition.
These were the "carrots" dangling in front of Caden as rode to the finish line on Sunday...

Our cute rider, Lightning Lekson #244...

Getting staged and ready to ride his first moto on Saturday...

It took 2 motos this afternoon for Caden to qualify for the Main race...but, his persistance paid off. He placed 3rd in State!!! Not to bad for a boy that just started his first season this summer...

He received his very first wall plaque this afternoon (he was so darn excited that he even slept with it that evening)!
Caden met a new friend at the track this summer and has enjoyed hanging out with Dylan and learning some great tips from him. Great job, Dylan on placing 1st in your class!

Thanks to all who came out to support Caden today in his racing. We really appreciate your encouragement, Papa & Nana, Chad & Alyssa and Bob....it makes a real difference to Caden.
Our last day of Finals was on Sunday, and this day brought even more excitement to Rum River BMX. There were a total of 91 motos racing today, and you could feel the frenzy in the air (not to mention the humidity and wind)...
Caden rode well today and qualified for the Main Feature race in his first moto! Like I said before, he was after the "trophies that were taller than him"...

Thanks again to our fans, the Roe Family, Nana & Papa, Lauren and Chad for coming out once again to applaud and cheer Caden on...

Here is Caden getting ready to cross the finish line in his first moto...can you see his look of determination!

An unfortunate event happened to Caden during the Main Feature race on Sunday...2 riders collided in front of him after the first obstacle and took him down as well. He ended up finishing the race in 6th place and received a purple medal for participating in the Minnesota State Finals Qualifier. We are so very proud of him for getting back up on his bike and finishing the race. He had tremendous sportsmanship and wore his medal proudly. You did an amazing job this weekend, Caden, you finished 3rd and 6th for your class in the State. You should be so proud of yourself, we are!

A big THANK YOU to Calli, his big sis, for always being his optimistic, unending cheerleader...you are his #1 fan!
