We hosted our first annual National Night Out event at our house. We had an awesome turn out, and enjoyed talking with new and former neighbors. We had lots of fun doing the following activities...

a coloring contest for the children! Our first place winner, Nathan, received a container of art supplies. Our runner up, Riley, received a dalmation firehouse stuffed dog that was donated by our local fire deaprtment.

We collected a basket full of food to donate to our local food shelf.

We had a delicious ice cream bar with lots of yummy toppings...

and an excellent gently used book swap for the kids.

Calli and Anna have been "attached at the hip" for the past several days!

The kid's had a grand time playing yard games, blowing bubbles, and doing chalk art on the driveway.

The adults enjoyed talking and hanging out with fellow neighbors. It was a great opportunity to meet and reconnect with our neighbors of Highland Bluffs.

We were fortunate to have our local police and fire departments stop by to pass out goodies and enjoy some refreshing ice cream. The kid's were totally amazed by their presence!

Isaac, Riley and Caden waiting for the fire truck to arrive, the highlight of the evening for them.

Calli was so excited to see Kevin (a volunteer Ham Lake fire fighter) again, he was one of her Safety Camp instructors this summer.

Our fabulous host, in uniform as usual!

A big thank to the Ham Lake Fire Department for topping off our National Night Out event. And to our neighbors for making an effort to join us on this special evening!
