We planned an exciting family weekend in Hayward, Wisconsin to snowmobile and enjoy the snow. BUT... since we couldn't play outside (because we have NO snow), we decided to have a splashin' good time at the Water Park of America. This was our first experience at this thrilling water park and hotel that is centered around the theme of Minnesota. We received a gift card for our family from my Mom for Christmas, and enjoyed a perfect weekend indoors relaxing by the water, and screaming down the water slides. The water park is ENORMOUS, and the hotel is GORGEOUS! We had the best time swimming, riding the waves and slides, surfing, eating, having a sleepover, screaming, and creating family memories. What a beautiful time we spent together on the day of LOVE...
Here a few interesting facts we learned about the Water Park of America-
*There are 136 stairs from the bottom to the top of the Eagle's Nest...America's longest indoor family raft ride, which is ten stories tall and over a mile long
*The FlowRider (Minnesota's only Flow Rider Surf Simulator) cycles through 24,000 gallons of water per minute; its sheet of water moves between 25 to 30 miles per hour.
*The Fort Snelling play-area's big bucket dumps 500 gallons of water every two and a half minutes.
*There are 300,000 gallons of water used to fill the Water Park of America.
*There are 12 slides throughout the Water Park of America.
If you ever get the chance to visit this amazing water park, you won't be disappointed! There is nothing better than enjoying this fun-time with your family and being surrounded by interesting landmarks from our own state of Minnesota.
