We are officially butterfly parents! 2 of the 5 painted lady butterflies emerged from their cocoons this evening around 9 p.m. We got Calli out of bed to witness their birth, and to begin feeding them. The butterflies will drink sugar water from a cotton wick that is placed in a painted flower in the observance box. This will be their means of food until we release them in our backyard. What an awesome change to unfold right before our eyes...

Isn't it an exciting to see how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly. It is a miracle. We are waiting for all of the butterflies to lay eggs at our house, so we can watch too.
Great Job on the blog.
